IVR stands for Interactive Voice Response it is also referred to as Digital Receptionist.

When a customer dials your office you can have an IVR answer the call and play a pre-recorded message. You may record this message yourself or have a professional studio record the message for you.

The message can give the user options, for example

"Welcome to company ABC, please select 1 for support, 2 for sales and 3 for accounts, or alternatively hold for an operator"

When the user selects an option, the caller can be sent to:

  1. A user's extension.
  2. A hunt list.
  3. A call queue (automatic call distribution).
  4. Another IVR menu
  5. Voice mail

You can have as many IVR (Digital Receptionist) voice menu's as you wish.
